FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Alexandria, VA – (December 10, 2014) The American Institute of Constructors announced today that twenty construction professionals have been awarded the Certified Professional Constructor (CPC) credential based on their performance on the CPC Examination. To become certified as a CPC, an individual must have over 8 years of qualifying experience and education and pass a comprehensive examination based on the Constructor Body of Knowledge.

The 8 hour examination was held in October 2014 at over 70 locations across the United States. In addition, 700 Associate Constructor (AC) certification examinations were administered, including many University Students who qualified for the examination.  The AC examination is the first level of AIC’s Constructor Certification Program.

The CPC examination tests problem-solving abilities that require application of knowledge, analysis, and synthesis at the level of an experienced constructor. Passing the CPC exam distinguishes an individual as a Professional Constructor - someone who possesses the skills and knowledge acquired by education and experience to manage the execution of all or a substantial portion of a construction project. A Professional Constructor is an individual committed to serve the construction industry in a professional and ethical manner and engage in a continued development of skills and education to meet increasing industry challenges and changes.

“I congratulate our newest CPCs. The CPC credential is the mark of a professional and earning it is a great accomplishment.  With the ever increasing support and recognition of the CPC credential in the industry, having earned it will pay dividends for these individuals as they continue their career.”  Said AIC Constructor Certification Commission Chairman Matthew Conrad, CPC.

The next CPC examination is March 2015; registration will open online in January 2015. For more information about the constructor certification or the AIC please contact Joseph Sapp at 703-683-4999 X224 or info@professionalconstructor.org.
