As I begin my term as the President of the AIC I want to take a moment to thank you for your support of this organization. I look forward to and appreciate the opportunity to lead the AIC this year. I am excited about the possibilities we have in front of us. I have been a member of the AIC for 30 years now and I see still see a world of potential in what we can achieve as an organization. I also want to thank David Fleming, CPC for his leadership as our President over the past year.
In the past year we were able to make significant strides in the value, benefits, and programs available to our members. With the launch of AIC University, we now have an education program in place that can provide a high level of professional education that our members need to continue to grow as professionals. Our members can now access education content online and on demand through AIC U. The content offerings will continue to grow as we continue to shape the type of learning our members require.
We have also supported new partnerships with other organizations that allow our members access to additional training and education, in fact we anticipate adding another major education provider to our partnership in the coming weeks. These new opportunities also include discounted rates just for our AIC Members.
The 2014 Annual Forum generated another year of growth; we had over 120 total attendees with us in Greenville, SC this year! I anticipate seeing us exceeding that number when we head to Ft. Worth, TX in April 2015. I hope you will make plans to join us as the Annual Forum is a great source for continuing education but also to get more involve with the AIC, as well as expanding your professional network.
Our Certification program continues to gain strength as well. This past year we saw an increase in overall examination candidates and a higher number of re-certifications than in recent years. A new marketing campaign will soon be launched that will help us increase the awareness and value of Constructor Certification. I am also happy to report that we are very close to completing the requirements to obtain Accreditation for our Certification program by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
If you are currently an AIC Member and I highly encourage you to investigate Constructor Certification. Alternatively, if you are not yet a Member of the AIC but are currently a CPC or AC I hope you will join AIC as a Professional Member. Becoming an AIC Member will give you access to the benefits and programs that are aimed to help you grow as a professional. If you are a CPC and would like to join the AIC please contact Joe Sapp at firstname.lastname@example.org so you can join today.
Lastly, I want to invite you to get involved with the AIC. As an organization we continue to grow and that means growing our volunteer support base as well. I encourage you to get involved with one of our committees who are on the front lines of creating programs that AIC Members use every day. Your service to the AIC can help us continue to provide the necessary support and programs our members need to keep their competitive edge in this industry.
