American Institute of Constructors Welcomes New President
May 8, 2012 – Alexandria, VA – The Board of Directors for the American Institute of Constructors announced its 2012-2013 leadership at the recent AIC Annual Forum, which was held April 18-21 in Tampa, FL. Ascending to the position of President of AIC is Tanya Matthews, FAIC, DBIA, of TMG Construction Corporation. Saeed Goodman, AIC, CPC, PMP, CMIT, of NAVAIR (Naval Air Systems Command) was elected to Vice-President of the AIC, while Matthew Conrad, CPC, of The Christman Company and Paul Mattingly, CPC, of BosseMattingly Constructors retained their roles of Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. In addition, the AIC welcomed two new and one returning Directors. Joining the AIC Board is Saeed Goodman and Greg Carender, CPC, PMP, of Demark Consulting Inc. Being sworn in to a second consecutive term was Mark Hall, CPC, of Hall Construction Co. Inc.
Upon the confirmation of the new slate of officers, the AIC said thank you to Andrew Wasiniak, CPC, of Walbridge for his term of service as the President of AIC. Mr. Wasiniak will now serve in an ex-officio role of Past President while he Chairs the AIC Finance Committee. Incoming President, Tanya Matthews remarked “Andy has done a fantastic job over the last year in leading the AIC during a time of growth in both the membership and the Associate Constructor and Certified Professional Constructor examinations.”
The election of Tanya Matthews marks the first time a woman will serve as the President of the AIC. “Over the past years Tanya has shown a dedicated passion and commitment to serve the Institute. She is a fireball of action and professionalism, a truly motivated leader. I look forward to her stewardship and impact, along with the rest of the AIC Board, as she continues to grow AIC, and in advancing our mission of promoting ethics and professionalism in the construction industry” says AIC’s Past President Andrew Wasiniak, CPC. Ms. Matthews currently serves as the President of TMG Construction Corporation.
