Twenty-Seven Earn AIC’s CPC Credential

Alexandria, VA – (December 7, 2012) Twenty-Seven construction industry professionals recently earned the Certified Professional Constructor (CPC) credential from the American Institute of Constructor’s Constructor Certification Commission (AIC & CCC). These 27 individuals join the more than 830 individuals who have earned the CPC designation since CCC began awarding it in 1996. The Fall 2012 class successfully completed the CPC examination, which was administered in conjunction with the Associate Constructor examination on November 3, 2012 at over 70 locations nationwide.

The examination tests problem solving abilities that require application of knowledge, analysis, and synthesis at the level of an experienced constructor. Passing the CPC exam distinguishes an individual as a Professional Constructor -- someone who possesses the skills and knowledge acquired by education and experience to manage the execution of all or a substantial portion of a construction project. A Professional Constructor is an individual committed to serve the construction industry in a professional and ethical manner and engage in a continued development of skills and education to meet increasing industry challenges and changes.

”Congratulations to this new class of CPCs; they have all demonstrated a clear understanding of what it means to be a Professional Constructor.” Said David Fleming, CPC, DBIA, Chair of the AIC Constructor Certification Commission. “I welcome this new class of CPC’s as they represent not only the Commission, but also the profession as a whole.”

The next CPC examination is April 6, 2013, registration opens in January 2013. For more information about the CPC Exam, please contact Joseph Sapp at 703-683-4999 X224 or info@professionalconstructor.org.

About the AIC – Constructor Certification Commission
Founded in 1971, the American Institute of Constructors exists to promote individual professionalism and excellence throughout the related fields of construction. AIC supports the individual Constructor throughout their careers by helping to develop the skills, knowledge, professionalism and ethics that further the standing of the construction industry. AIC Members participate in developing, and commit to, the highest standards of practice in managing the projects and relationships that contribute to the successful competition of the construction process.

The AIC Constructor Certification Commission is a separate board that works independently of the AIC's normal committee and leadership structure. The Commission operates semi‐autonomously so that it can make impartial decisions about certifications, exams and standards even when the AIC takes a specific stance on an issue.
