he Florida Building Code governs construction in the state of Florida while the Florida Building Codes Act provides a private cause of action for noncompliance with the applicable building codes. This topic provides an overview of the requirements established in the Florida Building Code, the use of building code interpretations, liability for noncompliance with the code, and examines the Florida Statute that allows a party to sue for building code violations.
