Dear Mr. Ethics,
An employee recently told me about a video that that is on YouTube. The video shows some of our workers sitting on the roof of a condo project we have in lawn chairs, drinking beer and lighting off bottle rockets. If I caught these employees in the act they all would be fired. Since this is on YouTube I do not think I can take any action because I did not witness it live. I do not feel I can use this video against them.

The YouTube video is just as good as catching them in the act. There is not right of privacy that attaches to pictures or videos placed on public, social sites. There placing a video on Youtube makes their actions even worse. It shows your employees acting recklessly and improperly. And it is for the whole world to see including OSHA and other government agencies. Do not worry about taking actions against these employees because you did not catch them, live, in the act. There are no adverse ethical issues involved with acting upon the video.
