May 3, 2012 – Alexandria, VA – The American Institute of Constructors Board of Director’s announced it’s 2012-2013 leadership at the recent AIC Annual Forum April 18-21 in Tampa, FL.  Ascending to the position of President of AIC was Tanya Matthews, FAIC, DBIA of TMG Construction Corporation.  Saeed Goodman, AIC, CPC, PMP, CMIT of NAVAIR (Naval Air Systems Command) was elected to Vice-President of the AIC while Matthew Conrad, CPC of The Christman Company and Paul Mattingly, CPC of BosseMattingly Constructors retained their roles of Secretary and Treasurer, respectively.  [more]

Friday of the Annual Forum was a full day of sessions, highlighted by Keynote Speaker and AIC Award winner Jack Blitch who spoke during the annual Awards Luncheon.  Jack was honored as the Walter Nashert Sr. Constructor Award.  Also winning awards were Steve Byrne, who was given the W.A. Klinger Construction Education Award and Rick Lawrence with the Jack Kinnaman AIC Leadership Award.  Friday also featured a fantastic Ethics Panel that included Bruce Demeter as moderator and panelist Kevin Powell of the USACE, James Gill, Mark House of the Beck Group, and Hoyt Lowder. The first day of the AIC Annual Forum 2012 is just about to get underway.  Today we have Wayne Reiter presenting a day long session - "Managing and Controlling your project through the contract documents."  This is our second year having Wayne present a day long pre conference session.  Tomorrow is when the bulk of the sessions begin with AIC Committee meetings starting in the morning, along with the Constructor Certification Commission meeting for most of the morning.   [more]
