Dr. Dennis C. Bausman has over 30 years experience in construction and construction education. Currently he serves as Professor and Endowed Faculty Chair in the Construction Science & Management
(CSM) Department at Clemson University. Prior to joining the faculty at Clemson University he was in large commercial contracting where he held positions in Executive Management, Division Manager, and
Project Management over a 22 year career in industry. Dennis is an AIC Certified Professional Constructor and has been recognized as an AIC Fellow. He is on the review board for the Associated Schools of Construction and a member of the Panel of Arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association.
Dr. Bausman has received national recognition for his work including AGC’s National Outstanding Educator Award, ASC’s Outstanding Researcher Award, and the W.A. Klinger Construction Education Award from the American Institute of Constructors for Longstanding Contribution to Construction Education and Distinguished Service to the Advancement of the Construction Profession. Dennis has conducted numerous research efforts including a strategic planning guide for the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), a study on construction retainage funded by The Foundation of the American Subcontractors Association, and a research study on Subcontractor Default Insurance supported by the NASBP and ASA. His work has been published extensively in refereed journals and professional publications. |

Liska has developed and taught more than 300 continuing education courses for the construction industry worldwide, including in the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia and China. He helped develop and currently facilitates and teaches in the Supervisor and Project Manager Academies in conjunction with the National Center for Construction Education and Research.
The professor is the author of numerous books, articles and research reports on management, education, safety and training in the construction industry. Liska chairs the board of governors for the American Institute of Construction Constructors Certification Commission. He is past national president of both the American Institute of Constructors and the American Council for Construction Education and serves on the boards of both organizations. He is co-founder of the Construction Industry Cooperative Alliance and is a Fellow in the American Institute of Constructors, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Chartered Institute of Building in the United Kingdom. |

Paul Mattingly is a partner in BosseMattingly Constructors, Inc. in Louisville, Kentucky. The company was founded in March 2000 and provides construction services throughout the Midwest and South. Mr. Mattingly earned a BS in Construction Science from Kansas State University in 1986 and a MBA from Bellarmine University in 1996. AIC and AGC have been important influences in the advancement of Mr. Mattingly’s career. He was a member of both organizations as a student and has advanced to the CPC level with AIC. He is a current Board Member and Executive Committee Member of AGC of Kentucky and is a Past-President from years 2003 and 2010. In addition, he is currently on the national Board of Directors and holds the office of Treasurer with AIC. In areas of construction education, Mr. Mattingly participates with the ACCE on Visiting Teams as an industry representative. He is a member of the Industry Advisory Board at Eastern Kentucky University. At the high school level, he is involved with ACE Mentoring Affiliates in Louisville and Lexington Kentucky. |

Penny Knoll joined Montana State University’s Civil Engineering Department in 2000 as an adjunct instructor and became an assistant professor in January 2004. She teaches undergraduate and graduate students in the Construction Engineering Technology and Masters of Construction Engineering Management programs and has been recognized on many occasions for excellence in teaching. Knoll actively participates in local and national contracting organizations and currently serves as director of Region VI of the Associated Schools of Construction. Prior to joining MSU, Knoll lived in Arizona where she owned a successful design build commercial contracting firm in the Phoenix area. She also spent a
year as a faculty associate at the Del E. Webb School of Construction. Knoll worked in construction for twelve years and, while working full-time, earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction and a Master of Construction Management, both from Arizona State University. |

The Board of Advisors consists representatives of construction-affiliate associations, construction education programs and other individual practitioners. Their broad knowledge, opinions and observations guide the decision making of the Commission for the sake of advancing the goal of certification.
